Service Description

Level: Workshop 1 or equivalent basic foam-building experience Project: Finish the shield from Workshop 1 and make small texture samples. You will learn: - Preparing seams and surfaces for finishing. - Creating texture through layering, carving, and surface treatments. - Testing flexible primers, sealers, and paints for compatibility. - Building a convincing faux metal finish. - Using base coats, washes, dry brushing, highlights, and shadows. - Adding controlled rust, wear, and aging. - Painting for visibility under stage lighting. - Making labeled samples so a finish can be repeated or repaired. Take-home result: A painted prop, texture samples, and a record of the finishes used.
