The Warehouse Project: Give Props a Second Act

Dear Theater Friends,

Addams Family Apothecary Cart
Addams Family Apothecary Cart

You know that bittersweet moment after strike, when the lights dim, the costumes are boxed, and suddenly you're surrounded by props and set pieces with no idea what to do with them. They don’t fit in your car, they don’t fit in your garage… and honestly, it feels wrong to throw them away after so much work and love went into making them.

Please don’t toss them.

Instead, donate them to The Warehouse Project, a “Goodwill” for theater props based right here in the Bay Area.

This is a community-driven effort to collect, inventory, store, and share props and furniture between theater companies, schools, and creatives. From detailed set pieces to quirky vintage finds, we’ll give your items a second act, and help other productions save money and time.

I will personally: Pick up your donated items, Organize and inventory everything, Store them safely and accessibly

Then, I’ll offer them up for rent or resale at accessible prices, just enough to cover the costs of storage, maintenance, and transport. My goal isn’t to make a profit. It’s to create a sustainable, practical system that benefits all of us in the performing arts.

And here's the best part: When you donate, you earn credit toward rentals for your next show.

Need a giant spoon for Beauty and the Beast? A creepy mirror for Addams Family? A fake cake for Matilda? I already have a growing inventory of ready-to-go prop packages, and with your help, The Warehouse Project can become the go-to resource for props in the Bay Area.

Let’s stop filling landfills and start filling each other’s stages.Let’s share, reuse, and keep the theater magic going.

Reach out if you’ve just closed a show and have items to donate, or if you're looking for something specific for your next production. I'd love to help.

With love, sawdust, and a whole lot of gaff tape,

Patricia Bilello.
